Just as I walked out of the Mount Royale metro station in Montreal, I was instantly drawn to an addictive rhythm accompanied by an impressive guitar rift. They are the CheeseCake Ninja.
The drum set was made from big cans and a high hat (high hat?). Despite the humble instrument he’d constructed, he had the rhythm to call down the thunder. And the guitarist was flying all around the area like a grasshopper—I’m not sure if he was playing the guitar, or having sex with it! Next time I’m in Montreal, I want to find them and hear them play again.
